Michael Berry, Ph.D. Chairman Emeritus
Dr. Michael A. Berry served as an army officer in Vietnam, 1967–68. After returning to civilian life, he joined the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in 1972. For 24 years he was the Deputy Director of the National Center for Environmental Assessment at Research Triangle Park, NC. Between 1986 and 1991 Berry directed the USEPA’s indoor air research program. Dr. Berry is recognized internationally as an expert in the subject of indoor environmental quality. After he retired from the EPA in 1998, he taught a broad range of environmental science and management courses at the University of North Carolina. Now retired, he maintains a professional interest in environmental management and public health.
