CIRI Sets One-Day Registration Fee; Extends Discount Fee Deadline

Albany, NY – (April 21, 2008) – The Cleaning Industry Research Institute (CIRI) today announced it has set a one-day registration fee for its 2008 Cleaning Science Conference & Symposium to be held at the University of Maryland on June 9-12. This year’s theme is "Cleaning Science and Health: Make the Connection."

"A healthy indoor environment relies on a healthy cleaning industry for sustenance. Our 2008 symposium is that sustenance," noted Jim Harris, Sr., CIRI president. "Cleaning personnel cannot determine how clean a surface if by visual inspection – no matter how well trained they are.

CIRI’s mission is to raise awareness regarding the importance of cleaning through scientific research. Its goal is to expand on existing research, help its members be more effective, improve the public’s understanding of the importance of cleaning and influence the development of public policy.

To that end, this year’s symposium showcases original studies and conceptual papers relating to cleaning, science and health. Industry and government researchers, academics, scientists and public health specialists will present papers designed to raise awareness concerning effective cleaning and improved health and well-being. Methods to measure and quantify the effects of cleaning on health also will be explored.

"CIRI’s unique venue allows participants to learn the latest information and trends on cleaning science, disease transmission and mitigation research, new cleaning methods and their impact on health, hygiene and the environment," said Harris.
